Weekend Workshops

The CEDRIC Centre is pleased to offer two unique weekend intensive workshops.

These intensive 3 day workshops are structured to create immediate and lasting change in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors around food and your body and to enhance your relationships with all the people in your life - including that most miraculous of beings: YOU!

Our Phase I Intensive Weekend Workshop is the place where you will enhance your understanding of the causes of your use of food to cope. Whether you restrict, binge, and/or purge it's all coming from the same place and you will get clear on what triggers you and why and, most importantly, what to do to change that pattern once and for all.

Our Phase II Intensive Weekend Workshop is open to all graduates of Phase One and any current or past clients who are wanting a refresher and some new tools to enhance their healing journey. This workshop will focuses primarily on deepening your connection with yourself. We explore a variety of tools for greater internal awareness and compassion as well as for strengthening your skills in relationship with others. A wonderful next step for anyone who's already got a handle on the basics!

We intentionally keep our groups very small and intimate for this intensive weekend offering so each of you will have lots of time and space to share and learn and will feel safe and secure in doing so.

We are very passionate about the work we do. We believe very strongly in our approach and we have seen it change the lives of hundreds of men and women in Victoria and beyond. Phase I Intensive Weekend Workshop

Have you ever said: "I wish I could just take some concentrated time out of my day to day life and really focus on my recovery"

Well, are you truly ready to take some time just for you? Are you ready to stop treating the symptoms that arise from your use of food to cope and really, once and for all, make profound and lasting changes to the underlying problem?

If you want a life that is free from food and body image focus and that supports you to be the very best you can be, this workshop is a must.  Every single client that attends our intensive phase I workshop witnesses exponential growth and a quickening in their recovery process. As a facilitator and support person I personally can attest to the rapidity of change in awareness and behaviour that follows our Phase I weekend intensive.  If you’re ready for a kick start to your recovery process this weekend is it.

Your group begins each morning at 10:00 and works together until 3:30 pm when we will transition to our movement space and our fabulous and gentle yoga instructor, Deb Moncur will lead us in a serious of gentle, relaxing stretches to ground us and rejuvenate us after a full day of processing. This truly is the best end to the day you could ask for!

We thoroughly explore key components of the recovery process such as basic needs, coping strategies, self-awareness and our resistance to it and our relationships with others and how they help and hinder our healing. Our lunch hours are spent together at a local restaurant enjoying connection and conversation while taking part in a mindful eating exercise designed to support you to safely connect with yourself around food and to deepen your understanding of the complexities of your relationship with food.

Many opportunities for experimenting with new tools and for fine tuning their use will be provided so you not only gain much knowledge of your inner self and triggers but also concrete skill in how to create lasting change in your relationship with food.

This workshop is perfect for new clients and for those looking for a deepening of their understanding of the underlying principles of recovery. We welcome you to join us and watch your disordered eating fade away!

Phase II Intensive Weekend Workshop

Each of us gets to a place in our healing where we feel that we've got a good understanding of the principles of Natural Eating and are frequently able to employ them with great success. What we don't understand often at this stage is why we sometimes throw all our tools and success and healing goals out the window and return to using food to cope just like we've never learned a thing!

If that sounds familiar our Phase II workshop is for you! Our time together over the intensive weekend will be all about fine tuning and tweaking specific blocks and underlying triggers that keep you returning to food for support, nurturing and self-punishment. This will clear the path for you to use a variety of life enhancing coping strategies, which we will explore together, and to feel like you are truly free from the control of the unconscious draw to food for coping.

Remember, it takes years of unconscious stress, anxiety, trauma and sadness to trigger us to develop disordered eating as a coping strategy. It is a very unconscious pattern borne out of extreme duress and the underlying triggers are often so familiar and so frequently discounted or dismissed by us that we don't even acknowledge that we have a legitimate reason to feel as overwhelmed as we do.

These are just some of the reasons that we may keep using food to cope long after we've become conscious that it is just a coping strategy. We know it but we don't believe it! This Phase II weekend is about you finally choosing to believe and to forever allow yourself to create a life that demonstrates to yourself and to others that you have realized your worth at last!
